To reinforce our team, we are looking for a Research Project Manager Plant Nematology.
Function
As a Research Project Manager Plant Nematology you will be responsible for R&D projects concerning the sustainable management of plant-parasitic nematodes.
This includes various tasks:
Design, execution and follow-up of nematological experiments:
- Cultivation and maintenance of a collection of plant-parasitic nematode species
- Execution of in vitro assays as well as plant assays in growth-chamber and greenhouse trials
- Follow up of GEP and grower trials
- Microscopy and DNA-based techniques, such as PCR
- Plant nematode diagnostics
Project management:
- Data analysis and statistical processing of results
- Preparing and leading progress meetings
- Precise experimental planning and trial design
- Keeping close contact with the different departments and teams involved
- Writing our research projects related to biological control of plant-parasitic nematodes
In this position you will regularly travel abroad.
Your homebase is our research center in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. In a few years, a relocation to Grobbendonk is planned, which will become your permanent base of operations.
Profile
Do you have a Master’s degree or PhD in Plant Nematology? Is agronomy your focus? Do you like to get your hands dirty? And are you passionate about plant nematology? Then we are looking for you!
For our position of Research Project Manager Plant Nematology, we are looking for someone with:
- Experience with biological control in Plant Nematology
- A strong research background
- Great time- and project management skills
- Very good knowledge of English (knowledge of French is a plus)
- A flexible mindset, who can easily adapt to different situations
- A teamplayer that can easily connect and bridge between different departments involved
- A driving license B and practical experience
Experience in chemical laboratory techniques and formulation is a plus.
